Detroit is not only the largest city in the so-called "swing state" of Michigan, but also the home of hip-hop legend Eminem (52).

While "Slim Shady" made a public appeal on Tuesday evening (local time) to vote for Democrat Kamala Harris (60) in the upcoming presidential election on November 5, he left the musical interlude to another celebrity: Barack Obama.

The ex-president took the opportunity to perform several lines from the Oscar-winning hit "Lose Yourself" on stage.

"I've already done a lot of campaign appearances, so I don't usually get nervous," explained the 44th US President to thunderous applause. But this appearance was also something special for him.

Fittingly, Obama rapped the first lines from one of Eminem's best-known songs: "His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy. There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti."
