Parents are shocked when they see twin daughters at birth for the first time

California - When you meet Aspen and Storie Cheo for the first time, you might assume that the girls are good friends. But the students are so much more - not just sisters, but twins! Their different looks made the family a viral hit.

The sisters from California don't really look alike: while Storie has brown hair, a darker complexion and brown eyes, her sister, unlike her, is light blonde and has greenish eyes.

They were created from two different eggs that were fertilized by different sperm.

While the twins may not look the same, they still have at least one person in their family who bears a clear resemblance to them - their parents!

This becomes clear in a video on the family's TikTok profile , which has already been viewed more than 6.8 million times. In it, you first see Storie and Aspen sitting next to each other, until suddenly their parents Katelyn and Scott appear.

After a loving kiss, the adults hold their heads very close to their daughters' faces, revealing that one twin girl looks like her dad and one twin girl looks like her mom. "Genetics is wild," reads the video's description.

"It's literally like one twin has picked up every Chinese gene from my husband, while the other has picked up every Caucasian gene from me," mom Katelyn tells Newsweek.

At birth , the parents of six were actually a little "shocked" at how different the twin sisters looked. With their other children, you would always find a mix of Katelyn and Scott's looks.

"Fraternal twins are not common - it only happens in 23 out of 1000 births. However, twins usually at least look related."

Of course, the parents don't have a problem with this. They see their two daughters more like twins of themselves. "It's incredible what a role genetics can play in a family and how many variables there can be," says the US-American happily.
