Out of fear of Trump? Renowned US newspaper rows back in the election campaign!
Washington - Since 1976, the US newspaper "Washington Post" has always supported one of the two presidential candidates in the US election campaign - until now. Is Amazon boss Jeff Bezos (60) behind the U-turn?

"The Washington Post will not endorse any presidential candidate in this election. Nor in future presidential elections," announced publisher William Lewis (55) in a statement yesterday, Friday.
The paper is aware that this decision could be condemned as irresponsible.
According to a report byCNN, the fact that one of the largest US newspapers is holding back in the battle between Democrat Kamala Harris (60) and Republican Donald Trump (78) has not gone down well with the employees of the "Washington Post".
Preparations had even been made to speak out in favor of Harris a few days before the US election on November 5 - but this has now come to nothing.
While Lewis explained the move as a "return to the roots" and pointed out that his newspaper had only sided with a candidate once since it was founded in 1877 and only once before 1976 (in 1952), an author who had resigned in protest brought the name Jeff Bezos into play.

Washington Post called on readers to make their own voting decisions
"This is obviously an attempt by Jeff Bezos to win Donald Trump's favor in anticipation of his possible victory," the ex-employee told CNN. Multi-billionaire and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos owns the "Washington Post". He fears financial damage from a possible second Trump term.
Meanwhile, the US newspaper appealed to its readers' ability to make their own decisions. The "Washington Post's" job is to encourage all Americans to think with "non-partisan" reporting.
