Homeless man gets a makeover: the result is astonishing

Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) - This transformation is really something to behold. It was carried out by Joshua Santiago in his home town of Philadelphia. The hairdresser has been volunteering there for years to give homeless men and women a fresh haircut. But in this case, the US American went one step further. The corresponding video went online on TikTok in mid-October.

Like this one, Santiago moves many of his jobs directly into the fresh air, onto the sidewalk. This time, a middle-aged man can be seen sitting in the barber's chair.

The homeless customer has excessively long, curly hair which, like his beard, appears very unkempt. The man's clothes are also run-down and full of stains.

The volunteer hairdresser starts by working on his hair and immediately uses a razor. The homeless man's beard then has to be completely removed. Once his face is smooth, Santiago turns his attention to fine-tuning his hair.

The customer then goes into a mobile changing room, from which he emerges in a new outfit. Surprisingly, the homeless man looks different after the makeover than you would have expected.

TikTok video collects a good 70,000 clicks

The clean-shaven face, short hair and new clothes make the homeless man look much more respectable. However, this also makes him look older than before his makeover (from skater boy to gentleman, for example).

But that certainly shouldn't bother him - apart from that, he looks like he's been reborn. "Kindness is not about how much you do, but how much love you put into what you do," Santiago writes next to his curious video.

It has since received a good 70,000 clicks on TikTok. In the comment column, it is clear how enthusiastic some of the viewers are, expressing their amazement.

Joshua Santiago founded his non-profit company "EmpoweringCus" in 2017. Since then, he has been cutting the hair of homeless people in the USA. He receives a lot of praise from his 470,000 followers, especially on TikTok.
