Formula 1 season finale: Norris holds his nerve, McLaren wins team title again after 26 years
Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) - McLaren are Formula 1 constructors' world champions for the first time since 1998 , securing their first teams' title in 26 years thanks to Lando Norris' victory in the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The two Ferrari drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc finished second and third behind the runner-up from Great Britain.
Max Verstappen, who has already been crowned drivers' world champion two weeks ago, only finished sixth in the Red Bull.
Defending champions Red Bull had no chance in the battle for the constructors' title because Mexican Sergio Pérez scored far too few points over the course of the season.
In the end, it was only enough for third place in this classification. After a collision, Pérez retired early in the United Arab Emirates.
Ferrari cannot catch up

Ferrari, on the other hand, had the chance to take first place until the last race. However, the Scuderia was unable to make up the 21-point deficit despite a strong performance with two podium finishes.
McLaren has now collected a total of nine team titles in its history, the same number as Williams. Only Ferrari (16) has won more.
After twelve seasons, record world champion Lewis Hamilton finished fourth in his last race for Mercedes after a rapid race to catch up.
The 39-year-old Briton is switching to Ferrari after the turn of the year and wants to win his eighth world championship title with the Italians.
In his final appearance in the Haas racing car, Rhinelander Nico Hülkenberg raced to eighth position. The 37-year-old will drive for the future Audi works team Kick Sauber from 2025.
