During a hurricane: what this golden retriever dares to do almost drives his owner mad
Florida (USA) - While most people fled the horror storm "Milton" or hunkered down in their homes as best they could, one person showed little interest in the fact that the state of Florida was being hit by a Category 3 hurricane.

Hurricane Milton hit the US Sunshine State last Thursday, causing destruction and loss of life.
Residents were evacuated, others tried unusual methods to secure their belongings on site and still others paid little attention to the storm. One of these was golden retriever "Duke", who lives with his owners in Central Florida .
The four-legged friend had already made a name for himself on social media before the hurricane, as he showed a particular fondness for the family pool. But this time, this hobby was a bit too much for his owner.
Because as Hurricane Milton rolled towards the dog owners' home and some harbingers could already be felt, the golden retriever had nothing better to do than take a cool dip in the pool.
In a video, the dog can be seen floating in the water, completely relaxed, while the world around him is about to "go under". His owner Kimberly Clark, who usually supports and celebrates her pet's visits to the pool, was more than worried about Duke this time.
Viral TikTok video shows four-legged friend in pool during hurricane

In the clip, she is therefore constantly scolding the furry friend and asking him to get out of the pool. In the background, you can already hear heavy gusts of wind and see how the sky has darkened suspiciously.
"Duke! We're in the middle of a hurricane!" shouts his mistress from behind the camera. "And you're here in the pool!" She had actually let the four-legged friend outside shortly before so that he could do his business "before it gets bad". But Duke had escaped into the garden again to take his beloved bath.
For Kimberly, however, the weather was no fun at all and she announced that her partner would be along shortly to get Duke out of the pool. Despite the scolding, the dog made little effort to get out of the water on his own.
The clip naturally went viral on TikTok and was clicked on more than 3.6 million times. "The fact that dogs can sense storms and he doesn't care," wondered one user in the comments section.
In a follow-up video , the US American was fortunately able to give the all-clear. She and her family survived the hurricane unscathed. Even her dogs' beloved pool was not damaged.
Good for Duke and his furry brother. To celebrate the day, the pelt-noses were of coursefound in a familiar place: in the water of the round pool!
