Memphis (Tennesse, USA) - The suspected murderer and kidnapper of billionaire heiress Eliza Fletcher (†34), who was killedin September 2022, has confessed to the crimes! Cleotha A. (40) now faces a life behind bars.

According to a report by WREG News Channel 3, Judge Lee Coffee told the defendant yesterday (Monday) that he should be sentenced to life in prison without parole plus additional years.
His defense lawyers had looked at the evidence and decided that a confession was the best option for Cleotha A..
The state had originally demanded the death penalty for him. As USA Today wrote, the guilty plea ensured that this was avoided.
Prosecutor Steve Mulroy is said to have read out a statement from the victim's family in court, addressed to the defendant: "We have no idea what happened to you to turn you into someone so filled with a desire to hurt people. Whatever it was, it doesn't excuse or explain what you did. You have changed our lives forever, and nothing will ever be the same again," it said.
In April 2024, the 40-year-old is also said to have been convicted in another case. Cleotha A. raped a woman in 2021 and was sentenced to 80 years in prison. The sentences are to be carried out consecutively.

Fletcher was jogging near the University of Memphis in the early morning of Sept. 2, 2022, when she was dragged into an SUV.
