Grandpa and grandson watch their favorite club play: what happens next brings tears to the eyes

Buenos Aires (Argentina) - These moments will stay with you for the rest of your life! Last weekend, Buenos Aires-based soccer club Racing Club de Avellaneda were crowned winners of the Copa Sudamericana for the first time. It was a dream come true for a grandfather and his grandson.

The South American equivalent of the Europa League in this country has immense significance among fanatical Argentinian supporters.

Racing won their first international title in 36 years thanks to a 3:1 victory in the final against Brazilian representative Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte.

According toDe10 Sports, a 70-year-old Racing fan and his 12-year-old grandson watched the game last Saturday evening on TV at home.

A one-and-a-half-minute clip, which was sharedon "X" and went viral overnight, captured the tense reactions of the two soccer fans in the final moments of the game.

When Roger Martínez (30) finished off a counter-attack in stoppage time to make it 3:1, not only did the packed Estadio General Pablo Rojas in Paraguay burst at the seams, but also those at home in front of the television.

They were screaming and jumping for joy and could hardly believe their luck at having just witnessed a historic event.

The boy even folded his arms in front of his face in disbelief, while his grandpa, who was just as excited as he was, sought a tight hug with the child.

The euphoric shouts of the Argentinian TV commentator in the background even brought tears to the teenager's eyes.

Soccer, arguably the most beautiful minor matter in the world, once again seemed to have served its purpose brilliantly. Young and old can now capture this moment for eternity.
