TikTok is her downfall: famous luxury influencer caught stealing in the supermarket

Cape Coral (Florida) - A well-known TikTok star from the USA is currently facing some very unpleasant questions. Klaufluencer Marlena Velez (22) is said to have regularly gone on theft sprees in supermarkets - just to pretend to her 300,000 followers that she lives a life of luxury.

The housewife liked to show off her glamorous life on TikTok. But that's probably over now.

Now the well-known influencer Marlena Velez has been convicted of shoplifting by the police, reports theFort Myers News-Press.

According to the Cape Coral police, they were called to a branch of the Target supermarket chain last Wednesday. According to the store detective, a customer was putting a lot of goods in her shopping cart. However, when she arrived at the self-checkout, the lady scanned a fake barcode and only paid a fraction of the value of the goods.

According to the police, the initially unknown woman stole a total of 16 items - clothing and household goods - with a total value of almost 480 euros.

A photo of the brazen barcode forger was published on the police's social media channels and the public was asked for help. Finally, an anonymous tipster contacted the investigators and was able to identifythe shoplifter beyond doubt as Marlena Velez.

TikTok was the influencer's undoing. The police had an easy time of it.

A video shared by the "Stay at Home" mother of two on her favorite platform shows the 22-year-old doing her "shopping", packing plenty of goods into her shopping cart and then stowing it all away in her SUV.

The Klaufluencer deliberately omitted the payment process. The video has since been deleted.

The 22-year-old is now facing prosecution for shoplifting.
