Baby kidnapping in hospital: Infant abducted from neonatal ward

Vienna - The kidnapper arrived as the mother was leaving the room: A baby has been kidnapped from the neonatal ward of a Vienna hospital. The police are on the scene with a large contingent.

According to Austrian media reports, an infant was abducted from the neonatal ward at Vienna-Favoriten Hospital on Thursday. The police are checking access to the hospital.

According to what is known, the new mother briefly left the hospital room. When she returned, there was no trace of the baby, reports the portal Heute.at.

The desperate woman then raised the alarm.

According to police sources, the focus is currently on the family's surroundings. The investigation is in full swing.
