Rescue operation with a happy ending: Disney steamer rushes to the aid of a sinking boat

Bermuda - In the middle of the dreaded Bermuda Triangle, a catamaran begins to take on water, but a fantastic rescue operation leads to a relieving outcome.

The catamaran named "Serenity" was a good 370 kilometers from the coast of Bermuda last Sunday when the drama took its course.

A leak in the escape hatch caused the 15-meter-long vessel to start taking on water.

As ABC News reports, the family of four aboard the Serenity called for help, to which theDisney Treasure, a new cruise ship based in Florida, responded.

The Disney steamer from the Netherlands was around 130 kilometers away from the sinking catamaran when it learned of the people in distress.

The ship made it to the already panicked passengers in time and rescued them with the help of its small lifeboats.

All four were brought safely and without any health problems onto the adventure ship, which took them back to the United States .

"We are pleased that the Disney Treasure was able to assist the endangered boat passengers. Our crew members worked together during the rescue and skillfully demonstrated their training and commitment to safety," said the captain of the Disney Treasure.
