USA - A woman separates from her husband by text message - and the internet explodes! 28-year-old Sierra Freeman goes viral with her unusual divorce story and wants to encourage other mothers.
The US-American and her partner Caleb met in 2018 and married two years later. Everything seemed perfect at first - and their first child was soon born. But during her pregnancy, the 28-year-old realized that she and Caleb had grown increasingly apart.
As People reports, she had no one to lean on at the time except her work colleagues.
"When we got home from our first family trip with my family, we sat down and talked. We both cried and decided to try again. We worked on it for a month, but nothing changed. It just didn't work," says Sierra.
In September, she decided to text Caleb at work to tell him that she wanted to break up.
She explained that she "didn't hesitate" to announce the divorce by text, as face-to-face conversations often lead to emotional reactions.

Surprisingly, her ex-partner took this in stride and just wanted to make sure he could continue to be a part of their son's life.
Shortly after the breakup, Sierra posted a video on TikTok and shared screenshots of her conversation with Caleb. The video quickly went viral, garnering more than 14 million views and 7,000 comments.
"I don't know exactly why I wanted to share it on TikTok [...]. I wanted to show people that you can be parents together despite separation, that you don't have to stay in an unhappy marriage [...], and I wanted to let other moms know that they're not alone," says Sierra.
After the separation, Sierra moved out with her two-year-old son and found a new home.
She and Caleb want to make the divorce official by the end of the year. For now, they are concentrating on getting through the upcoming holidays together as parents.
