Mother wants to load bags, suddenly shopping cart and child tip over!

Leek (England) - Scary moment for a mother from England! A terrible accident occurred while loading shopping bags in a supermarket parking lot.

Lucy Greatbatch (28) was shopping with her ten-month-old baby George in a Lidl store in Leek, England, last week. She had put her child in the child seat at the front of the shopping cart.

When they had finished and left the discount store, Lucy went to the car to load the bags.

Then disaster struck: suddenly the shopping cart rolled away, hit a kerb and tipped over onto the sidewalk with the baby inside. "George's head hit the ground," wrote the worried mother on Facebook.

Fortunately, the British woman received help at the scene from another woman and a letter carrier, she added.

Little George suffered bruises and lots of bruises on his arms and legs as a result of the accident, as pictures on Facebook show. He got a big bump on his head. "Luckily he's fine," says Lucy.

But it could have turned out differently.

Now the mother of a son is warning other parents on Facebook: "Please always keep your hand on the shopping cart. Check again where you put it before you take out the shopping!"

The 28-year-old also sharply criticized the fact that the shopping carts have no brakes.

A Lidl spokesperson told the Daily Mail: "All our shopping carts are subject to rigorous checks to ensure they meet the necessary safety requirements."

He added: "There are several different cart options available to customers in our Leek store, including trolleys with harnesses for young children."
