Ingenious deception! 37-year-old man harasses teenager, but she lures him into a trap

USA - When a 14-year-old girl was harassed by a 37-year-old man, she reacted with lightning speed: Instead of her own cell phone number, she gave him her mother's number - and so he unknowingly exchanged explosive messages with the police.

The teenager was on her way home from school when she was approached by 37-year-old Isaiah Navarro in the US state of Arizona.

As the New York Post reported, Navarro first asked the girl where the nearest McDonald's was before asking her to get into his car.

However, when she refused, the 37-year-old demanded her phone number. In order to get away from him quickly without endangering herself, "she wisely thought to enter her mother's cell phone number into his phone," police said in a statement Wednesday.

Navarro called the number later that day, but he didn't talk to the teen or her mother - he talked to the police!

Because the 14-year-old had told her mother everything, and she went to the nearest police station without hesitation, where the officers then waited for a message from him.

The investigators then made contact with the suspected perpetrator via several text messages while pretending to be the girl.

"The conversation became increasingly explicit, with Navarro describing and demanding specific sexual acts without concern for the victim's age," police said.

In photos the department released of text messages between Navarro and the officers, he can be seen asking for "pictures" and telling her to "keep the conversation private."

During the chat, the 37-year-old asked to meet several times and called the number up to 30 times.

The investigators did not hesitate for long and arranged a meeting point with the 37-year-old, to which he drove a short time later - in the hope of meeting the 14-year-old. However, the police were already waiting for him there and the handcuffs quickly clicked.

"This is a prime example of a young woman who reacted quickly and did the right thing," said the police, praising the 14-year-old.

Navarro was charged with enticement of a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation and attempting to engage in sexual activity with a minor.

He is currently in custody on bail of 250,000 dollars (around 230,000 euros).
