After a 15-year-old gruesomely shot and killed his parents and three siblings last Monday, his 11-year-old sister is now telling how she escaped her brother's brutal attack.

As reported by the New York Post, the girl said she woke up to the loud gunshots.

According to the charging documents, shortly afterwards she peeked through the door in tears and saw her father and 13-year-old brother lying dead in the hallway in a pool of blood.

Her six-year-old sister, with whom she shared a room, was shot as she ran into the hallway afterwards.

A short time later, the gunman entered the room and shot indiscriminately. After the eleven-year-old was shot twice - in the hand and neck - the girl pretended to be dead. She closed her eyes and held her breath, afraid that her brother would come back and complete the terrible deed.

The young girl remembered how her brother went into the hallway after the shots, bent over the three lifeless bodies and touched their necks and breasts to "see if they were still alive".

The police arrested the 15-year-old shooter at the scene.

The survivor then fled through her bedroom window and ran to a neighbor's house. She had previously heard her brother leave the room and make a phone call.

The 11-year-old later told the police that the gun the 15-year-old used to kill his family belonged to their father. She added that she believed the perpetrator's anger stemmed from the fact that he had failed some school tests and had gotten into a lot of trouble for it.

Officers were alerted at around 5am on Monday after the offender himself called 911 claiming his younger brother had killed the family and committed suicide for fear of being caught watching pornography.

At the same time, the police received an emergency call from a neighbor who reported that the 11-year-old girl had been shot and was bleeding from the neck and hand. The injured girl then identified her 15-year-old brother as the shooter.

The public prosecutor's office filed charges against the juvenile perpetrator on Thursday for five counts of first-degree aggravated murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.

The 15-year-old is in custody and must appear in court again this Friday.
