Unbelievable: Man wants to load beer, he doesn't care that his car is on fire

Sydney (Australia) - He'll go through fire for beer. An Australian man was seen trying to stow his purchases - plenty of beer - in his car. The fact that his car is ablaze doesn't seem to bother him.

"The main thing is that the beer is safe," he must have thought to himself when his car suddenly caught fire.

Astonished passers-by in Sydney have filmed an incredible scene. It shows a man calmly leaving a liquor store and strolling to his burning car with a crate of beer under his arm.

As if it were the most normal thing in the world, he opens the front door, considers whether he should put his purchase on the driver's seat, but then decides otherwise and stows the precious beer in the back seat.

Silently, he leans against the open car door for a moment and looks into the bright flames shooting out of the engine compartment just a few centimetres in front of him. Thick smoke hits his face.

After a few seconds, the man comes to a decision: He walks slowly back into the store, obviously wanting to buy more beer.

Meanwhile, passers-by are shouting for the beer lover to get away from the car on fire. Finally, a man rushes over and extinguishes the fire with a fire extinguisher.

According to a report in theDaily Mail newspaper, the curious incident took place in the suburb of Ermington.

"Everyone stayed away from the fire and waited for the fire department to arrive. We were all expecting the car to explode," the newspaper quotes a witness as saying.

"At first I couldn't believe what I saw - a car on fire, and then this guy comes out with a carton of beer like it was just another day. I thought for sure he was going to call for help, but then he just casually puts the beer in the back seat of his burning car!" the eyewitness explains.

The alerted fire department arrived on the scene a short time later and quickly extinguished the fire. According to the witnesses, the beer lover sat down in a restaurant and watched the extinguishing work from a distance. Cheers then!
