Fall from 14th floor: Pregnant woman dies, her baby miraculously survives

United Kingdom - Expectant mother Emma Acko tragically lost her life when she fell from the 14th floor of a tower block - her baby miraculously survived.

According to the Daily Record, the woman fell from a great height on Tuesday morning and could only be found lifeless.

A resident of the 17-storey block of flats in Leeds, England, reported hearing screams and a loud bang.

Emma had been heavily pregnant and had been eagerly awaiting the birth of her baby daughter.

Her unborn child was saved and delivered in a hospital. However, it was in a critical condition.

Family and friends dismayed

Several friends and family members shared memories of the young woman on Facebook and laid flowers in front of the house.

One devastated friend posted: "Rest in peace, you beautiful woman. I can't believe I'm actually writing this."

The police report did not discuss any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A suicide cannot be ruled out.
