Bristol (United Kingdom) - The Bristol Zoo Project wildlife park is currently facing a mystery as wildlife cameras have captured a mysterious animal that the park cannot identify.

In a Facebook post, the Bristol Zoo Project therefore asks its followers for help in identifying the unknown animal.

The "mysterious winged and horned creature" keeps appearing near the park's enclosures. However, animal experts are "at a bit of a loss" when it comes to naming the mysterious creature, the post continues.

In a night-vision camera image attached to the post, a deer-like animal can be made out, but it appears to have a horn in the middle and wings.

In a statement on their website, the park goes on to explain that a conservation team from the Bristol Zoological Society looked at the footage and concluded that the mystery animal was unlike anything they had seen before.

Fans are also puzzling over the name of the unknown animal

The recording of the unknown creature happened just before the start of Halloween time, which the park has taken as welcome PR and inspiration for its Halloween event this year.

"Scotland has the Loch Ness Monster and Cornwall has the Beast of Bodmin Moor - have we perhaps discovered a similar myth here in Bristol?" the park continues.

Fans are certainly puzzling over the identification. While some are certain that it is a muntjac deer, another user writes: "It's definitely a baby unicorn!"
