Family tragedy: Teenager (15) shoots parents and siblings in mansion worth millions
USA - Family tragedy in Seattle (US state of Washington): A 15-year-old opened fire on his father, mother and three of his siblings.
As the Daily Mail reports, a terrible crime took place on Monday in Fall City, a town of 2000 inhabitants.
A teenager is said to have killed almost his entire family. Only one of his sisters was able to escape the hail of bullets and received help from a neighbor.
The shooting triggered several emergency calls, after which the boy was arrested a short time later without resistance.
The police found the bodies of Mark Humiston, his wife Sarah and their three children in the villa - they had all been shot at close range.
Tragic end to the picture book family
The suburb of Seattle is known for its expensive homes. In 2019, the family realized their dream of such a villa, with three bedrooms and four bathrooms, for two million dollars.
The father was originally from Texas and worked as a software developer at Haris Engineers in Seattle. According to his LinkedIn profile, he worked there for almost 20 years. His wife Sarah worked as a nurse.
Neighbors described the family's relationship as particularly close. At home, the children were homeschooled and often seen playing at the lake.
Family drama shakes idyllic community
The Fall City community is known for its family-friendly atmosphere with a low crime rate, said Mike Mellis, spokesman for the King County Sheriff's Office. The investigation into the background is ongoing.
The teen has been charged with five counts of first-degree murder, according to the New York Post. However, the teenager did not attend the court hearing on Tuesday, following the advice of his lawyer.
