Man slips and lands in the track bed: trains are stopped, except for one!

Seattle (USA) - That was a close call! Because a man fell from a bridge pillar into the track bed and was seriously injured, a police officer had to risk his life and limb to prevent an accident.

The lights of the approaching train grew brighter and brighter, but the policeman was able to drag the injured man out of the danger zone at the last moment.

The Seattle Police Department (US state of Washington) recently released a video showing officers on a spectacular operation last week.

At around 9.15 p.m. on October 7, the Seattle Police Department received a report of a man in a mental health crisis sitting on a pillar directly above the train tracks in the city center.

Despite persuasion, the 57-year-old man could not be persuaded to leave the dangerous place. Instead, exactly what should have been avoided happened: He slipped, fell around 7.5 meters and ended up seriously injured in the track bed.

The officers had the presence of mind to make an emergency call and ask approaching trains to stop. For one train driver, however, the appeal came too late: his train could no longer be stopped.

The police officers had to act, ran into the track area and tried to pull the immobilized man off the rails in time. Video footage shows how an officer managed to prevent a tragedy at the last second. The train that had been announced then rushed past.

The 57-year-old's day ended in hospital. His fall resulted in several broken bones.
