A family with three dogs takes in a cat: What happens next surprises everyone
Tampa (USA) - Casey had known the stray cat from the neighborhood for a while, but when Hurricane Milton hit Florida, she and her partner couldn't leave the little feline outside.
With three dogs, Casey and her boyfriend already had enough pets. But in view of the danger posed by tropical cyclone Milton, they quickly took heart and took in the kitten.
"I asked around and a neighbor told us that it was an elderly neighbor's cat who had just abandoned it," Casey told Newsweek.
"When I opened the door, she almost crashed into our house because there were loud fireworks outside. She was reluctant to come near our dogs at first, though."
Casey had fed the cat before and always admired her friendliness. When the stray animal allowed her to be stroked for the first time, their relationship grew.
"It was like all the animals knew a storm was coming, and they were just really calm," the US American said of the violent hurricane.
"That night we all slept in our only bathroom with no windows and everyone was very well. After the night of the storm, I knew I couldn't let her back outside because she had really become a part of our family."
Three dogs and a cat: TikTok users are touched by sweet video
Casey and her boyfriend named the cat Tangerine. In the days that followed, she began to make friends with the dogs - so much so that she was soon imitating their every move.
In a clip on Casey's TikTok channel "casecorley", you can see how the kitten observed and adopted some of the dogs' habits.
"She's great and already knows the whole house. She knows where to make herself at home," Casey enthused about her new pet. "We're still a little allergic, but we'd rather sneeze anytime than not have her in our quirky family," she gloated.
Numerous TikTok viewers were touched by how quickly the cat and dogs managed to bond.
