Great white shark washes up on the beach with a mouth full of blood: had the predator killed before?

Massachusetts (USA) - These pictures are fascinating and terrifying at the same time! A huge dead great white shark has washed up on the beach of Cape Cod on the east coast of the USA. Its mouth was covered in blood.

The washed-up shark was towed off the beach by the towing service. A close-up of its jaws shows the sea predator's jagged teeth.

Had the predator killed itself shortly before its death?

Scientists took a close look at the three-and-a-half-metre animal yesterday, Wednesday, immediately after it was discovered. It is known that it was a male. Its cute name: koala.

As the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy announced on Facebook, the shark was tagged in 2022 for research purposes.

There were no obvious signs of its death. Samples taken from organs and tissue should now provide clarity.

Orleans police were glad they didn't have to fight the great white shark

Pictures show how the predatory fish with the blood mouth was partially dismembered and measured while still on the beach. The local Orleans police were also involved. Not an everyday case for the officers!

The police officers published pictures of their unusual mission and expressed their relief that they did not have to fight with the great white shark.

At the end of the day, the animal was driven off the beach by a towing service with its mouth open and lying on its back.
