Abandoned dog has babies on the street: then it gets really bitter

California (USA) - What a tragic fate! A dog was dumped on the street while heavily pregnant. When she had given birth, the babies were simply stolen from her. Now she is pregnant again - and once again lonely and alone.

Animal rescuer Suzette Hall shared the sad story of the four-legged friendon Facebook - and was able to reassure her followers straight away: She also had a happy ending in store!

A friend of hers had become aware of the furry friend, who was already known in the neighborhood. After all, she had been wandering the streets for months, was regularly fed by residents and had even been given a chair to sleep on. But no one could take her in. The dog was far too scared for that.

And that's where Hall finally came in!

"Rosario [Hall's friend, editor's note] and I arrived this morning and when she saw us, she immediately ran off so we couldn't find her," the animal lover reported today, Friday.

"So we found out what time she always shows up to eat." And that's exactly when they lay in wait together.

The plan worked at first - the dog turned up on time to fill her belly - but when several people tried to catch her, she ran off again.

Fortunately, Hall had not come to give up. She waited patiently for the dog to come back and finally managed to herd her into a garden and catch her there with the help of a cage.

"That was the first time she felt a touch," says Hall, still very moved. "She didn't know how to react."

The animal rescuers then took the dog to Hall's car and eventually to safety.

"I told her that her life on the street was over. And then she fell asleep peacefully. She doesn't have to give birth to her babies alone or watch them being taken away from her. She will never have to be a lonely mom again."
