Fraudsters pretend to be Hollywood stars and steal 325,000 euros
Spain - Spanish police officers have tracked down fraudsters who stole large sums of money from two women. They pretended to be famous Hollywood actors and abused the trust of the two fans.

A total of five men were arrested in connection with the fraud, as reported byCNN. Ten other people were investigated in the operation known as "Bralina".
The fraudsters posed as Hollywood star Brad Pitt (60) and contacted their two victims via a fan page. They convinced the women that the actor wanted to invest money in projects with them.
The victims were led to believe that they were chatting with Brad Pitt himself via WhatsApp and were also promised a romantic relationship and a future together. They were tricked into transferring money several times.
"To find their victims, the cybercriminals studied their social networks and created a psychological profile of them, which led them to discover that both women were vulnerable people who suffered from depression and a lack of affection," a police statement said.
One woman was robbed of 150,000 euros, the other of as much as 175,000 euros. So far, the police have managed to recover 85,000 euros.
