It was supposed to be a relaxing trip to the swimming spot, but a great danger lurked in the murky waters. Suddenly, the crocodile attacked and Grandpa had to watch helplessly as the beast pushed his beloved granddaughter under the water and savagely mauled her. Cicilia (†6) didn't stand a chance.

After the little girl tragically died while swimming in the Tatau River (Borneo/Malaysia) on September 18, the authorities finally tracked down the killer crocodile and hunted it down, reportsBorneo Post.

Then the terrible certainty: they found human teeth, bones and coins in the stomach of the 5.18-metre-long armored lizard, which weighed more than a ton.

Whether these are the remains of the little girl is now to be finally clarified.

Crocodile attacks on Borneo on the rise

The search for the little girl's remains had been going on for days. Local residents were asked to avoid the Crocodile River.

The completely desperate parents even commissioned a shaman to perform a so-called "Miring" ritual to speed up the search, reports"Dayak Daily". In vain.

The killer lizard was only tracked down after eight days. It was discovered around five kilometers from the bathing spot where Cicilia died.

Deadly crocodile attacks occur again and again on Borneo, killing dozens of people every year. Like last April, when an armored lizard attacked a 57-year-old shell collector and mauled him in front of his family.
