Sean Combs, as the musician is known by his real name, pleaded not guilty last Tuesday.

Nevertheless, he has already been denied bail twice.

According to a report by People , Combs has been placed on "suicide watch" - a measure taken for inmates with suicidal tendencies to ensure constant monitoring.

A source told the online portal that this precaution was taken as a preventative measure, as Combs is in shock following his arrest and his mental state is unclear.

The rapper is housed in the Metropolitan Detention Center, a prison known for its dangerousness and overcrowding.

The facility, where around 1600 inmates are awaiting trial, is notorious for numerous deaths and suicides.

In their motion for bail release, his attorneys argued that "several courts in this district have recognized the conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center as unsuitable for pretrial detainees."

They further emphasized, "Just this summer, an inmate was murdered there, and at least four have committed suicide in the last three years."

TAG24 does not normally report on suicides. However, as the process took place in the public sphere , the editorial team decided to make it a topic after all.
