In order to be able to meet his outstanding maintenance payments, the 54-year-old started a dangerous "side job", as the magazine"Krone" reported on Tuesday.

In his financial plight, he decided to make real pistols from toy and alarm guns and sell them to dangerous people.

One of the buyers is said to have been an IS supporter in Germany. According to reports, the police were able to intercept the weapons delivery to the radical Islamist just in time.

As the"Niederösterreichische Nachrichten" reported, the nurse made around 45,000 euros with his terror business.

On Monday, the weapons hobbyist was sentenced to a suspended sentence of nine months by the district court in St. Pölten.

When the nurse went rogue, the Austrian special unit stormed his apartment. In court, the accused testified that he had already seen it coming.
