This was necessary due to the possible threat of an attack on the infrastructure, the police announced today, Sunday, on Platform X.

"Thanks to the help of the public, detectives from the Extremism and Terrorism Unit have managed to track down and arrest a man suspected of a particularly serious crime," another police post read.

As the Ministry of the Interior announced, the arrested man is said to speak Spanish and come from a Latin American country. He had been wanted since Friday. The police had warned that the wanted man was dangerous.

Public prosecutor Martin Bily said that the man was being investigated for arson. Criminal proceedings have not yet been initiated. The authorities did not give any further details for the time being. More information will be available after a meeting of the National Security Council.

Interior Minister Vit Rakusan (45) wrote on Xon Sunday that although preventive security measures remain in place in busy public places in Prague, there is no immediate danger.
