Excitement at "Who wants to be a millionaire": Audience joker gives extra wrong answer - this is the reason
Cologne - In the battle for 500 euros, a viewer on Monday night's "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" probably caused the cheekiest TV upset of the current year!
Student Torben Schnepper-Chimento (28) had only been sitting in the guessing chair in front of Günther Jauch (67) for a few minutes when he almost had to deal with his last question.
"According to the Old Testament, Lot's wife turns into a ...?", RTL wanted to know from him. The only problem: the 28-year-old was more than stumped in the presence of his wife.
Even the possible answers "salt pillar, advertising pillar, petrol pump, emergency call pillar" didn't help him. "Who is Lot and why does he have a wife?" wonders the student from Bergisch Gladbach.
In order to get to the bottom of the matter more quickly and get one round further, he finally decided to use the audience joker.
But it left Jauch stunned! Because: 99 percent of the 200 studio guests had agreed on "Salzsäule". Only one percent apparently deliberately made the wrong decision.
Public guest Andi fulfills a big dream
Upset, the 67-year-old finally set off to track down the two wrongdoers.
As soon as he found them, he literally knocked the iconic presenter's socks off with his explanation. "I just wanted an autograph," he confessed to the laughter of the other 199 guests.
And his plan worked! "I note with disgust and indignation how you are abusing this show here, but the idea was clever," Jauch revealed and granted the outlier his greatest wish. "For clever Andi," the autograph card read.
Unlike Andi in the stands, Torben Schnepper-Chimento had less luck a few meters further down.
In the 16,000-euro question "Who can be seen in some of his famous self-portraits with a straw hat, pipe or fur coin?", his incorrect answer of "Salvador Dali" meant he was knocked back to 500 euros.
