Pretty herding dog has everyone wrapped around his finger: will he find a nice home soon?

Cologne - He hasn't given up hope yet! At the Dellbrück animal shelter , herding dog mix Sam is currently scratching his paws. The four-legged friend is longing for new owners.

On Monday afternoon, the animal rescuers introduced Sam the emergency pet on Instagram. The four-legged friend first found his way into the four walls of the "Schäl Sick" back in November 2022.

However, the beautiful furry friend has since returned. The reason: a failed placement.

"He found a new home quite quickly - no wonder, as pretty as he is," summarized the employees succinctly.

In terms of character, Sam would develop best alongside a single person. Due to his protective instinct, he loves to "look after his humans".

Despite the unfortunate story of the brave little fellow's suffering, the animal shelter is still convinced that he will be successfully rehomed.

"We are absolutely certain that Sam will be a great guy in the right hands."

So far, however, he has the animal shelter staff wrapped around his finger every day. His new owner will soon be able to see the herding dog's sweet nature for himself.

Sam particularly enjoys long, extensive walks. "His passion for long walks and his energetic nature make him the perfect companion for people who are active and enjoy being out in nature."

So far, he has not only won over his keepers, but also his walkers, with whom he has been dashing through the forests of Cologne. "He is very eager to learn, knows all the basic commands and listens very well."

But: Sam is not a dog for first-time owners! According to the animal shelter, a good deal of experience is required to keep the lively four-legged friend in the best possible way. "This beautiful beau needs clear, consistent and friendly leadership."
