Halloween party becomes a crime scene: 17-year-old shoots several teenagers

Lake Charles (Louisiana/USA) - A Halloween party in the US state of Louisiana got out of hand at the weekend. A teenager suddenly opened fire, shooting all around him. Several party guests were injured and the 17-year-old suspect is on the run.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office officers rushed to a home in Lake Charles around midnight Saturday. According to the station, a shooting had been reported.

On the scene, officers were met with a horrific scene. Six teenagers between the ages of 15 and 19 had suffered gunshot wounds and had to be taken to hospital for treatment. One of the victims was in a very critical condition.

According to initial investigations, the shooting is said to have been preceded by a fight. At some point, a 17-year-old pulled out a gun and started shooting. The teenager then made off.

Numerous attempts by the police to track down the fleeing suspect have so far failed.

Judge issues arrest warrant for the suspected shooter

In the meantime, a judge has issued an arrest warrant for grievous bodily harm, attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons .

Despite all the suspicions, the wanted youth is presumed innocent until the conclusion of the evidence, according to the police.
