According to the Israeli government, the attackers killed more than 1,200 people in Israel and took around 150 hostages who were abducted to the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army subsequently took the Gaza Strip under constant fire. According to Palestinian figures, more than 1,350 people have been killed in the Palestinian territory as a result.

The White House later clarified that the US government had not yet received any independent confirmation of reports of babies beheaded by Hamas fighters. Biden had based his comments on information provided by Netanyahu's spokesman, a spokesman said.

Hamas had previously denied that babies had also been killed in the major attack on Israel. "Such allegations have never been proven. No evidence has been presented to support such false claims," said Essat al-Rishak from the Hamas politburo yesterday, Thursday. He added that the "alleged atrocities" were false information from Israel.
