As the American newspaper"New York Post" reported, the incident took place last Tuesday.

The alleged shooter, Robert Louis Singletary (24), became angry when a basketball-playing neighbor's children rolled into his backyard. He then ran down the street until he encountered a neighbor, at whom he fired. However, the neighbor was able to flee unharmed.

Singletary then went to the White family home, where he pointed his gun at six-year-old Kinsley. Her father William, who tried to deflect the shots to protect his daughter and the other children, was hit in the back by bullets and is now in hospital.

Kinsley's mother, Ashley Hilderbrand, also suffered gunshot injuries and had to be taken to hospital. However, she is now recovering at home with her daughter.

Thanks to the heroic efforts of her father, Kinsley only suffered minor injuries: A fragment of tile grazed her cheek, which subsequently required stitches.

Perpetrator had already been charged with other serious crimes

According to neighbors, Singletary shot until he ran out of bullets. Residents are shocked by the brutal attack on children at play.

"He looked at my husband and daughter and told them, 'I'm going to kill you,'" Ashley Hilderbrand said in an interview.

Little Kinsley also spoke out about the traumatic experience: "We don't even know the man," she said, "Why did you shoot my dad and me? Why did you shoot the father of a child?"

The suspected shooter is currently still on the run. Local police have offered a $1,000 reward for the arrest of the fugitive and asked for the public's help.

Robert Louis Singletary has already been charged with four counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with weapons and intent to kill, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm.

It is unclear why Singletary was at large in the first place if he poses such a danger to others.
