Surprising reception for Tesla boss: 10 minutes of booing for Elon Musk!
San Francisco (USA) -Elon Musk (51) was called on stage at a show by well-known stand-up artist Dave Chapelle (49). But the audience reacted differently than expected and booed the billionaire!
At the end of his show at the Chase Center sports and concert arena, host Chapelle brought Elon Musk on stage.
"Make noise for the richest man in the world," he asked the audience, according to TESLAMAG. Clapping and cheering quickly turned into minutes of booing, which not even the quick-witted comedian Dave Chapelle could stop.
The host of the show only managed a few jokes about the situation. Musk had always cut a good figure in public appearances in the past, for example as a guest on the US comedy show "Saturday Night Live".
On the evening of December 11, however, he had to endure booing for around 10 minutes and seemed almost speechless at the unusual and unfriendly reception.
Ejected Twitter employees in the audience?
The Chase Center holds 20,000 people. According to Twitter reports from those present, a good 80 percent of those in attendance booed Musk. That would still be around 18,000 people!
Chapelle joked about fired Twitter employees in the audience as a reason for the bad mood, but was unable to stop the booing.
Elon Musk's recent questionable Twitter post about Anthony Fauci caused negative headlines and malice online.
For the Tesla boss, who has been spoiled by success and applause to date, the loud and live rejection of his person must have been an unpleasant experience. According to TESLAMAG, it initially remained unclear whether he commissioned the negative reception himself or not.
The original video and the corresponding account are no longer available. However, another, albeit shorter, recording of the performance has been preserved and is currently going viral.
Reaction from Elon Musk!
The Tesla boss promptly commented on Twitter: "The woke mind virus is either defeated or nothing else matters."
Some users are certain that Musk is referring to his guest appearance that went wrong.
The term "woke" actually describes an "awakened" awareness of a lack of social justice and has taken on a slightly negative slant in recent years.
Musk had already used the term when he commented on the Netflix share crash in April of this year and justified it with the exaggerated representation of political correctness and social minorities. However, he also received encouragement for this.
With his latest statement, the billionaire makes it clear in the eyes of the Twitter community that he did not takehis last guest appearance, including booing , particularly well.
