In videos that are usually edited at lightning speed - sometimes with rap interludes - the US American from Los Angeles explains how to get through life (as a lawyer) more easily.

At the beginning of March, Mandell attracted attention with a clip in which he talks about the simple trick he uses to expose liars. More than 750,000 TikTok users have clicked on the clip since then.

The lawyer's approach: If you think a person's story is a lie, you should ask them to re-state the content - and repeat this procedure if in doubt.

Michael Mandell says in the video (watch it here): "Credible people add facts and remember more details when they repeat their story. Whereas liars usually memorize their story and keep it the same."

Some TikTok users warn

One trick is to ask them to tell their story in reverse order. This would force them to think harder and cause them to stumble more quickly.

The TikTok community was grateful for the lawyer's simple tips. Almost 130,000 liked the quick and informative video.

There were also a good 800 comments. Some even reported that they had already exposed liars thanks to the advice.

However, other users also urged caution. After all, it is also possible that someone who is telling the truth may simply not remember the story he or she is telling so well.

Ultimately, you can only be really sure if the liar admits to having lied.

Although: Once you lie, you're never believed...
