As the local television station CBS 3 Philadelphia reported, an unknown person knocked on a front door in the Frankford neighborhood around 3 a.m. on Sunday night. A 12-year-old boy woke up and looked at the door to see what was going on.

The child, whose name was Sadeek Clark-Harrison, looked through a pane of glass set into the wooden door. The stranger pointed a gun at Sadeek and pulled the trigger once, a police officer told the TV station.

"The perpetrator stood in front of the door, knocked and called his name twice," the mother of the victim, Lisa Clark, told CBS 3. "'Sadeek! Sadeek!" was heard, at which point he answered the door. Then he was shot between the eyes."

The child had no chance of survival. A coroner was only able to determine his death shortly after three o'clock. The perpetrator immediately fled the scene.

US media unanimously reported that the 12-year-old did not open the front door. However, it remained unclear whether Sadeek Clark-Harrison spoke to the perpetrator through the closed door.

Meanwhile, a neighbor of the boy who was killed explained that he had only recently saved his life when he suffered a diabetic shock. When he heard about the tragedy, "I started crying. The child is a good child. I watched him grow up and have known the family for years," he said.

The local police are already looking for information from the public.

Sadeek is the latest victim in a recent string of gun attacks and accidents in Philadelphia in which several minors have died.
