Hungarian researchers are looking for the smartest dog on earth with a daring livestream experiment.

The highlight: every dog owner can take part in the so-called "Genius Dog Challenge".

A YouTube video shows you instructions with an experiment that you can carry out together with your dog.

The competition revolves around two challenges. In the first challenge, your dog has to learn the names of six new toys within a week.

In the second stage, the number is doubled and the dog now has to learn the names of twelve new toys within a week.

According to the Guardian , the scientists have already chosen six Border Collies as their own participants. These are to be shown via livestream. Their results will then be evaluated.

Whether the winner can ultimately be called the smartest dog in the world is controversial - not least because the experiments focus on just one specific ability. According to Dr. Claudia Fugazza, the six contenders are already considered very intelligent - but pet owners all over the world are invited to take part in the global experiment.

So maybe your dog can top the results of the six pre-selected dogs!

"We can say that there are many good musicians among humans, but Mozart was somehow different," says Claudia Fugazza, explaining the innovative dog experiment. Because the worldwide dog experiment is going in a very similar direction.
